This episode was released on July 28th 2015. It is the follow-up episode to Chaos Theory and the story starts with Max and Chloe in the alternative time line. Max meanwhile had to realise, that her powers have limits and often terrible consequences.

Alternative timeline

On the beach with Chloe

Max and Chloe are on a walk on the beach, although the reunion isn't as Max had expected: Chloe had to pay for William's survival in being paraplegic after a car accident. She only can follow Max around in a wheel-chair and just move her head. The girls talk about their friendship. In one dialogue option, Chloe can be asked about Rachel Amber, but for the Chloe in the alternative timeline, Rachel wasn't her friend, and she only heard about her disappearance from the newspaper. Although the golden afternoon sun shines beautifully on the beach, the view is disturbed by the dead whales.

High-tech lair: The Price house

After returning from the beach, the next scene starts with Chloe in her high-tech lair (as Max is calling it). The expensive medical equipment keeps Chloe barely alive, while the immense costs slowly ruin her parents financially. Max should look around the room and examine certain things. She can open a few drawers, but most contain medical supplies for Chloe. There is also a noticeboard on the wall next to the bathroom, where Max can read a few postcards, she and her family members must have sent after the accident. The re-appearing snow globes are worth to mention. One also contains a doe, which kinda is an icon of the whole game. Aside that, a few newspaper articles can be read, but to Max's surprise, even in this timeline, Rachel Amber is gone! The girls talk a bit more about their childhood and growing up together, then they decide to have a movie night. They choose "Bladerunner" and the next scene after that starts in the morning, showing Max bent over on Chloe's bed, slowly waking up. Chloe is happy, but asks Max the favour to get her a dose of morphine from the bathroom upstairs.

• Go out of the High-tech lair
• Living room
  • Look around the house and read every note/paper lying around. Examine every spot.
  • Chat with William.
• Go upstairs and have a look around.
  • Chloe's old room is now more or less a storeroom.
  • In the bedroom is Joyce sitting on the bed and Max can talk with her.
• Bathroom
  • Switch on the light first
  • Check every drawer
  • Pick up the morphine from the cabinet.
  • Return to Chloe
  • Apply the morphine to the machine

Chloe will ask Max to pick up the photo-album on one of the sideboards. After that, Max will sit next to Chloe and turn the pages, while both reminisce about their childhood a bit longer. At this point, Max will either know from Joyce or one of the papers lying around the house, that Chloe's respiration slowly is failing, but Chloe will also state this fact again at some point. She directly will ask Max to end this life, giving her one last perfect moment she can keep in her mind forever.

• Max can deny the request
• Max can accept the request
• Max can react in "not knowing what to do" - what returns to either answering with accept or refuse.

Either way - Max will decide to return to the other timeline like she did in the previous episode - in concentrating on a photo showing Max and Chloe as children. (It takes a moment until this works.)

• To do this, use the Left Mouse and Right Mouse Button and the keys "A" and "D" to focus. Once the photo is sharp again, release and the image will zoom in.

Childhood, revisited

This is more or less just a movie sequence giving the player not much to do, but watch. William will shoot the photo, which made it possible for Max to return to this moment in time. One can watch William grab the car keys after he had a short phone call with Joyce. Max will burn the photo in the fireplace, while William leaves. Max promises Chloe to be always there for her, what ever will happen. Then the scene pans out, and a series of photos about the things that happened or where changed will show up.

Reset

Chloe's room

After Max is back to her already known future, she is in Chloe's room and glad to see the "old" Chloe back. One can look around first and also talk to Chloe. She'll suggest to find more evidence for the Rachel Amber case.

In the house

This probably doesn't always turn out this way, but David is all packed up and about to leave Joyce. Max can have a short conversation with David, though.

Back to the garage

With David out of the way, it is Maxs' chance to find more evidence in the garage.

• Search every spot for useful material.
• Get back to Chloe.

Hospital

After something more about the incident with Kate, the girls decide to visit her in the Hospital. Max can look around the room a bit, but should talk to Kate about that party and what the girl can remember. Kate agrees to help them with their main suspect, Nathan.

Blackwell Academy

• Look around for any presence of Nathan and also ask the other students.
• Get into the boys' dorm.

Nathan's Room

• Search Nathan's depressing room for any clue.

Investigation

• Put all the puzzle pieces together and solve the riddle.
• Try to find the place, where Rachel Amber was brought to.

The spooky barn

• Search the spooky barn for any clues.
• Climb the ladder and find a way to move the motor above. Use Max' powers, when necessary.

Trivia:
There is a Friday the 13th reference, when Max finds some hooks to move haystacks.

The Vault

Nathan's codes

• The player should have collected a small note from Nathan with a lot of numbers, one is a code with three numbers, which will open the vault door.
• Search the vault under the barn for any further clues. The girls will find disturbing footage, drugs and a complete, professional studio.

Scrapyard I

They are finding the remains of Rachel Amber.

Club Night

• Talk to everyone at the party.
• Try to get into the VIP area.
• Talk to Victoria Chase about, that she might be the next victim.

Scrapyard II

After the party Max and Chloe want to go to the dorms, but they get a text message from Nathan, which is saying: "Nothing will be left after I'm done". Chloe is in panic, because she assumes, Nathan is going to make Rachel Amber's remains disappear and the girls wouldn't have any solid proof anymore. So they scamper to the Scrapyard again and start to look for Rachel, whose corpse still is there. When Max stands up, a syringe can be seen and she gets drugged. While she suddenly falls unconscious, unable to move, she just can helplessly be witness of Chloe being shot and the face of their enemy, which is none other than Mr. Jefferson.
